Mica is a natural mineral with a vitreous to pearly luster, which forms in multiple distinct layers. Mica is lightweight and soft, and the sheets are flexible. This mica was mined primarily in the mountains of Western N.C.
North Carolina produces about half of all Mica mined in the USA.
